Everything's Technicolor...

One of those trends that i was initially afraid of was neon. I just think it is a bit tricky to pull off a neon dress or jeans for us dark skinned girls and also I have noticed young ladies have a thing for taking it to far with the whole color blocking thing. But i saw a couple of neon over sized clutches in a store front window the other day and i literally yelped they were so cute. So to help me overcome my fear and embrace the trend, i am going to drown myself in neon accessories; not to risky i think. A neon over sized clutch is perfect to perk up an LBD or LWD, (which make up about half of my wardrobe:-\) and a neon waist belt will add just enough playfulness to a safe outfit.

from purses to nail polish to jewelry, a neon accessory
is all you need to brighten up any outfit
Here's the bestie rocking a neon green belt  with her oh so ladylike and demure outfit

Stock up on neon headbands in every color to deal with a bad           hair day or even just the perfect hint of neon
This animal skin clutch is very versatile and the neon trim adds
a tinge of playfulness to the classic look.

A great pair of neon shoes in a solid color or even color blocked  is  an uber sexy
pop of color ,for your outfit

I'll be stocking up on every neon accessory i can get my hands on... 'now everything's technicolor'(from that song in Lizzy McGuire)....

The Female Entrepreneur in a man's world

I feel like there is a need for another word to describe female entrepreneurs. everyone everywhere claims to be all for female empowerment and gender balance but on taking a closer look, and being a struggling young entrepreneur myself i see that it takes that much more resilience, courage, strength and overall backbone to succeed at being self made, self taught and self sustaining than it does for guys my age or older. i am not trying a to throw a pity party or anything, nor can i pinpoint the exact reasons for this but... it  just is. So i think, there should be another word for what women have to do to be successful in business, because Entrepreneur just does not cover it.

Do it like a dude...

One thing i have always admired is the simplicity of men's clothing and fashion. How he needs on average three items of clothing to look as good as you will after several minutes of layering, accessorizing and primping up is only one thing to me; inspiring. If i could get dressed (and look nice) just as easily i would have enough time on my hands to stop global warming(or at least try). Men's wear  has since the beginning of time been mirrored in women's fashion. What i love about these two opposites is when they come together to create the perfect balance; just cute enough to be feminine while still being powerful with those clean lines and tough textures. I mean we are too old to be dressing like high school tomboys but nothing gives a hot rough edge to an uber feminine outfit like some loafers or oxfords or a great leather biker jacket. Versatile pieces are key in every girl's closet and mens wear inspired items like a boyfriend blazer in a neutral color can easily go from work to a night out or a weekend shopping spree.

shirt? skirt? i'm not sure but i love it! pretty daring too... and definitely  D.I.Y- able
